Kent Velo Girls Sportive

The Kent Velo Girls Sportive is back for 2016. Starting at Hilden Park in Hildenborough, three routes will take you on a journey through the beautiful winding lanes of Kent and Surrey with plenty of glorious scenery along the way. Whilst all riders are very welcome to join us, this is an event primarily organised for women by women.
Registration will open at 7.30am and the start times will be staggered as follows:
9.00am 60 miles
9.15am 40 miles
9.30am 20 miles
Hilden Cafe will be open from 7.30am for tea/coffee, bacon sandwiches, etc. Toilets and changing facilities will be available.
Timing chips will be issued to all riders.
The Routes
With three distances - 20/40/60 miles to choose from, there is something for everyone. There will be a feed station on each of the routes (two for those doing the 60 mile ride) stocked with water, sports drinks, bananas, savoury snacks, etc, as well as our very popular home-made brownies and flapjacks. Toilets will be available at the Dormansland feed stop (on the 40/60 mile routes).
The routes will be clearly signed with marshalls at appropriate points.
GPX files of the routes will be sent out to all riders a week before the event. Mechanical support will be provided with a call out charge of £10.
20 mile entry level challenge route - 1073 ft (32km/327metres)
A stunning route through quiet lanes of the Kentish Weald offering scenic views over the charming Kent countryside, with its oast houses, spring lambs and bluebells. This route is suitable for families and cyclists perhaps looking to take part in their first sportive, and requires a reasonable level of fitness to enjoy the rolling nature of the terrain covered.

40 mile intermediate Weald circuit - 2070ft (64km/685metres)
A classic scenic ride through the picturesque Weald of Kent, this route is reasonably hilly but all your hard work will be rewarded with stunning views. This route is suitable for cyclists with some experience of sportives who are perhaps looking to challenge themselves further. Good level of fitness required.

60 mile advanced Weald / Ashdown Forest challenge- 3700 ft (97km/1138metres)
A varied and beautiful, challenging day in the saddle, this 60 mile ride through the High Weald of Kent leads onto the open heaths of Ashdown Forest and its panoramic views. Including the iconic category 4 OFFICIAL 100Climbs No19
Kidds Hill climb, aka "The Wall", there are plenty of climbs to challenge the spring cycling legs and beautiful scenery around every turn to reward your efforts. Good level of fitness essential.
